Viggo Pedersen 1854-1926: Beautifully detailed oil painting by Viggo Pedersen of Washerwomen drying clothes by the lake. Signed on exhibition label on the stretcher Viggo Pedersen. Oil on canvas. 63×82 cm. Period frame. Pedersen was born in Copenhagen and the son of a family of artists. He attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1871 to 1878. His work was decisively influenced by the close contact with P.C. Skovgaard and Janus La Cour. His work is featured in the Statens Museum fra Kunst and the Hirschprung’s Samling in Copenhagen and also museums in Goteborg, Sweden. He is known for his beautiful landscapes of Sjaelland (Zealand), Denmark. H 42 in. x W 34 in. x D 2.5 in.
