Handsome pair of armchairs with rosewood frames by Danish Modern designer, Ole Wanscher. Recently reupholstered in an off white fabric with light-brown trim in leather. ‘ Throughout the 1930s and 1940s, Wanscher, working with master joiner A. J. Iversen, produced dozens of designs that are now seen as modern classics. In the 1950s, Wanscher left his private firm and began an association with P. Jeppesens Møbelfabrik A/S that would last for the rest of his professional life.’ ( wiki) Ole Wanscher was was influenced by Prof. Kaare Klint in his studies at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts, who he replaced on Klint’s death. Ole Wanscher was influenced by 18th C British designs and Egyptian designs. The elegant neo-classicism can be seen in this pair of chairs.
