She attended Vilhelmine Bangs Tegneskole (Drawing School) from 1889 to 1991 and finally Kunstakademiets Kunstskole for Kvinder (The Art School for Women at the Royal Art Academy) from 1890 to 1894 under Viggo Johansen. After her marriage to Henrik Deichmann, who worked as a district medical officer in Greenland, she mainly focused on renderings of the nature and of the Inuit people in their homely environment.
